 George "Robert" Beatty Scholarship

Scholarship Eligibility

• Candidates must be graduating high school seniors from Shenandoah High School in Noble County, Ohio who have lived in Noble County for four years; with preference given to residents of Seneca or Center townships.

• Candidates must have a minimum 3.2 grade point average (GPA) and be in the top 50% of their class.

• Candidates must plan to attend a public, state-supported four-year college or university in Ohio.

Scholarship Selection Criteria

• 50% Work Ethic and Demonstrated Ability to Work with a Team for the Benefit of the Team

• 30% Financial Need

• 20% Academic Success

• Strong preference given to students studying science, technology, engineering, math, or agriculture

• Preference given to residents of Seneca and Center townships.

Tayton Hupp "Golden Heart Scholarship"

In honor of Shenandoah Elementary student Tayton Hupp, who tragically lost his life in an accident, a Golden Heart scholarship fund has been established. This funding for this scholarship is from donations by Tayton’s family members, 4-H members donating a portion of their livestock sales, and other community members/organizations making anonymous donations. Two $500 scholarships will be awarded, one to a male student and one to a female student, who are voted on by their peers to have a “golden heart”. The scholarship can be used by Shenandoah seniors for any career pathway expenses whether it be college expenses or expenses for any advanced certification needed to enter the workforce after graduation.

Seniors: Please check your email to vote for one deserving male and one deserving female classmate. Voting must be completed before May 13, 2022.

 

STEM Scholarship

  • Five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to Shenandoah seniors who apply and demonstrate an excitement for pursuing a STEM related field of study at the collegiate level.
  • The rubric used for scoring applicants will also include academic achievement (emphasis), "whole person concept" (emphasis), and financial need (less emphasis).

Kodiak Scholarship

A scholarship shall be available to graduating students who plan to attend a college, university, or other institution or higher learning. Factors such as scholastics, leadership qualities, and determination to attend an institute of high learning shall be considered. This scholarship will be $2000 and 10 are available. Deadline to submit the application is May 5, 2023

Eligibility:

  • A 2.0 GPA for high school.
  • Enrolled a full year or more in the Noble Local School District.
  • Acceptance in an accredited college, university, or other institution of higher learning.

 

Lucy Jane Bates Memorial Scholarship (formerly known as Sarahsville Alumni Scholarship)

This scholarship is available to a graduating student who plans to attend a college, university, or other institution of higher learning. The amount is $400. Please see Ms Schoeppner for application and return by May 11, 2023..


 

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4721

VFW #4721 will be awarding two scholarships to the Class of 2022. Each school in Noble County will be given one scholarship. To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must be a graduating senior and plan to attend an accredited school of higher education. Please see Ms Schoeppner for an application. The application must be postmarked by May 20, 2023

 

 

Dean Orthodontics Scholarship

 

Requirements:

A graduating high school senior who will pursue a post-secondary degree.

Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Current or former patient of Dean Orthodontics or Dr. Brent Harris

250 word essay on what special attributes or accomplishments that set you apart and as a winner of the Dean Ortho Scholarship will help us fulfill our mission. This may include future goals and plans.

Diane Walker Memorial Scholarship

Do It Best/ Caldwell Lumber Construction and Industrial Tradesman Award

This award has been created for the students who plan on entering the construction or industrial trades out of high school. The award will be a customized set of Milwaukee cordless power tools aimed at helping the winning student gain a head start on their anticipated career. The award will be granted to the applicant that best demonstrates a passion for their anticipated field through a combination of an essay, completed project photos, and educator interviews. Application deadline is April 20, 2022. Please see Mrs. Marshall for an application.


 

Roberta J. Crock Memorial Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship award is provided by the family of Roberta J. (Bobbie) Crock. She dedicated her life to her nursing career and the care of her patients. Throughout her career she cared for thousands of patients, treating each one with care and compassion. Through this scholarship her legacy of caring will continue.

Applicants must be a Caldwell or Shenandoah graduate with a GPA of at least a 2.5 and be accepted into a nursing school or have the intent to enter nursing school within the calendar year. Scholarship award is $500. Application deadline is April 20, 2022. Please see Mrs. Marshall for an application.


Pennyroyal Ruritan Club- Charles S. Gibson Scholarship

One scholarship for $750 will be offered to any senior. Applications must be completed and returned to Mrs. Marshall by April 14, 2022. See Mrs. Marshall for application.


 

Gene and Alice Burga Scholarship 

This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior continuing their education in agriculture.  Applications are available in the guidance office and due April 15, 2022.

 

SHENANDOAH FFA ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP

The Shenandoah FFA Alumni is going to provide one or more scholarships in the amount of $500 each.
Deadline for turning in your application is March 24, 2023.
Winner will be announced at the FFA banquet.

Shenandoah FFA Seniors must meet all requirements listed below.


REQUIREMENTS:
● Must be a Senior with a cumulative GPA of 3.0
● Must have AET in good standing (online records)
● Must have been in FFA for a minimum of 2 years
● List all activities and accomplishments through FFA
● List all community service activities
● List all organizations/memberships outside of FFA
● Write an essay entitled “How My Experiences as an FFA Member Prepared Me for the Future?”

OAPSE Local 130 Scholarship

This scholarship is available to any student who attended GMN Head Start. Two $250 scholarship will be given to students in Guernsey, Monroe or Noble County. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due April 15, 2023. 

 

Kiel Miley Memorial Agricultural Scholarship 

This is a $500 scholarship opportunity for a Shenandoah High School senior with plans to attend school in the agricultural field. Applications are available in the guidance office and must be turned in by April 1, 2022. 

 

Noble County Cattlemen's Scholarship

Washington State Community College One & Done Scholarship

One & Done Scholarship Application for the 2022-23 Academic Year is now live. It can be found at www.wscc.edu/scholarships and allows students to fill out one application for all of WSCC's Institutional and Foundation scholarships - over $300,000 worth of scholarships! The Noble County Chamber of Commerce will be awarding $750 scholarships to current graduating high school seniors of current students of a Technical, Career Center, College or University.

2023 Lorin and Eleanor Sanford Memorial Scholarship 

This scholarship will be awarded to one student in the amount of $1000 and is to be awarded to a Shenandoah senior who applies and plans to live on campus while attending an accredited 4-year college/university.  The applicant must be seeking a bachelor's degree but can be in any field.  Submit to the guidance office by Aoril 24, 2023

   

 

Ohio Gas Association Scholarship

  • $1000 annual scholarship may be renewed up to three additional years.
  • Applications accepted between January 10, 2022 and March 31, 2023. 
  • Must have a career goal in the natural gas or related energy field. 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident. 
  • Must be an Ohio resident attending, or planning to attend an accredited Ohio college, university, technical, or trade school.

Noble County Performing Arts Scholarship

To be considered for this scholarship the applicant must:

  1. Be a graduating s enior or presently enrolled as majoring or minoring in Fine Arts- No age restrictions.
  2. Exhibit a desire to pursue a career in the Fine Arts:  Music, Art, Dance, Drama- Be Specific.
  3. Have high moral standards.
  4. Show loyalty to and support of LOCAL school and community.

2022 Noble Soil & Water Conservation District Education Scholarship

The applicant must be a Noble County resident. Applicants need to be pursuing a degree in the fields of Agriculture, Conservation or Natural Resources. Deadline for application submission is by 4:30pm on April 6 2023. Applications are available in the guidance office. 

 

Deerassic Park Scholarship

Students who wish to apply for this scholarship must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. $1,000 scholarship available.

Essay prompt:

  1. How has outdoor education and recreation impacted your life and education to this point?
  2. How would you implement increased outdoor education in schools with the goal of reaching more youth?

Peoples Bank Foundation/ Robert E. Evans Education Scholarship

Who can apply?

  • High school senior planning to pursue a four-year degree in the areas of business, education, engineering, liberal arts, math, science or technology. 
  • Must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Must have demonstrated financial need with preference being given to those students having a higher need. A Student Aid Report from FAFSA is required with the application. 
  • Applicants must reside in the market areas served by Peoples Bank.

Foundation for Appalachian Ohio 2023 Scholarships

  • The AK Steel Foundation Student Scholastic Award for Science, Technology, Math and Engineering was established by the AK Steel Foundation to provide permanent source of scholarship support for students pursuing studies in STEM, with particular emphasis on metallurgy.
  • The Ora E. Anderson Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Ora Eaton Anderson and his lifelong contributions toward the conservation of Appalachian Ohio's natural environment. The scholarship provides support to students pursuing studies associated environmental conservation and natural resources.
  • The Ariana  R. Ulloa Scholarship was established by family and friends to honor the memory and life's work of Ariana R. Ulloa. The scholarships are available to international students and eligible non-citizens pursuing any field of study, as well as students pursuing a degree in international studies or international relations.
  • The Bob Evans and Wayne F. White Legacy Scholarship was established to honor the tremendous legacy of both men in encouraging  continued academic endeavors after high school.
  • The Jennifer Garrison Public Service Scholarship encourages and supports post-secondary efforts of students with a passion for public service.

COAD David V. Stivison Appalachian Community Action Scholarship

To be eligible, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:

  1. Be a resident of the 30-county COAD service area for at least one year before the application deadline.
  2. Reside in a household with a total annual income at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines.
  3. Have obtained or will obtain a high school degree or GED. 
  4. Show proof of acceptance by an accredited 2-year or 4-year institution of higher education.

2023 Mike Crum Memorial Scholarship

$500 scholarship available. No GPA requirement. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due April 28, 2023

 

 

Noble Local Classroom Teachers Scholarship

The Noble Local Classroom Teacher's Association will award three scholarships to aid deserving graduates of the Noble Local District in furthering their education regardless of the major field of study.

Eligibility:

  • GPA 3.0 or better for the four years of high school
  • Enrolled a full year or more in the Noble Local School District
  • School involvement
  • Acceptance in an accredited college, university, technical school or vocational program
  • Complete 10 of the "core curriculum" courses. 

Applications are available in the guidance office and are due April 28, 2022.

 

 

2023 Noble County Retired Teachers Book Grant

Applications for the Noble County Retired Teachers Book Grant will be accepted from any student who will train to be a teacher or school administrator and who attends a high school in Noble County. The student must have been enrolled in a Noble County high school for at least one full school year. 

The amount of the book grant will be $1000. GPA 3.0 or higher required. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due April 10, 2023.

 

 

2023 Noble County 4-H Scholarship

At least three $300 scholarships will be awarded to 4-H members from Noble County in 2022.  A $300 scholarship will be awarded to one Shenandoah High School students, one Caldwell High School student,  and one At-Large student. 

Requirements for applying for a scholarship will be: 1) Must be a member of the Noble County 4-H program in good standing. 2) Live in Noble County or attend a Noble County school. 3) A high school senior graduating in good standing and on time. 4) Must have cumulative 2.75 GPA or higher. 

Applications are available in the guidance office and are due March 20, 2023. 

 

 

Ron Hill Noble County Scholars Fund

Applications are available in the guidance office and due to The Dayton Foundation by March 24, 2023. This is a $10,000 per year, 4-year renewable scholarship. 

Scholarship Criteria: 

  • Be a graduating senior from a Noble County, Ohio high school
  • Be accepted to a two-year, four-year, technical school or college or university
  • Be planning to major in a STEM/medical related field, business or education
  • Financial need may be used as a tie-breaker.

Application Process:

  1.  A copy of the college's acceptance letter that includes your Student ID
  2. A copy of the first page of Student Aid Report (SAR) that includes your expected family contribution (EFC) from the FAFSA
  3. A most recent official grade transcript including ACT and/or SAT scores
  4. An updated copy of your resume that includes all of your school activities/ sports, your volunteering/ community services, responsibilities and employment.
  5. Submit a letter of recommendation that addresses the character and work ethic of the applicant 
  6. Please submit an essay that answers the following questions:
  • What are your future career and educational goals?
  • Please tell us about an obstacle or difficulty that taught you something, even if you were unable to overcome it.
  • Tell us about someone in your life that you admire and what you have learned from them.

 

 

Guernsey/Noble Business and Professional Women Scholarship 
Guernsey/Noble Business and Professional Women are pleased once again to offer the
female students of your institution the opportunity to qualify for a $500.00 scholarship
sponsored by our organization.

Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program Scholarship
The Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program (OOGEEP) and the Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Foundation (Foundation) are proud to provide scholarships to students pursuing careers in the natural gas and oil industry.
Each scholarship is worth a minimum of $1,000 per year with a total of four years of potential eligibility. The minimum scholarship applicant criteria includes:

– Must be a U.S. citizen.
– Must have a career goal in the natural gas and oil industry.
– Must be an OHIO resident OR a student attending, or planning to attend, an accredited OHIO college, university, technical or trade school.
– Must have and maintain a grade point average (G.P.A.) of 2.5 or higher.
Applications must be emailed or postmarked no later than March 1, 2023.

Washington Electric Cooperative Children of Members Scholarship

The cooperative annually awards four scholarships to high school seniors whose parents or legal guardians are Washington Electric member-consumers. The first-place winner also receives the opportunity to compete for additional awards at the state level.

RULES AND REGULATIONS:
To be eligible for the Washington Electric Cooperative Scholarship Awards, the following provisions will govern the acceptance of
applications:
1. Applicants must be sons, daughters, or legal wards of Washington Electric Cooperative residential members, living on the lines and receiving service at the time of competition.
2. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who have all basic credits for college, or proper vocational, or technical school entrance. (Proper vocational or technical schools is defined as post-secondary institutions where credits can be transferred to state-accredited four-year colleges.)
3. Applicants must have a current career average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent standing on a nontraditional scale. Winners must provide proof of enrollment in an accredited college in order to claim their scholarships. Applicants, who are accepted and then enrolled in accredited schools of nursing, working toward degrees, are also eligible.

IBI Group's Scholarship

 IBI Group will award two, $1,500 scholarships to high school seniors for the 20th consecutive year.

The applicant must meet all of the following requirements.
1. Attend a high school in one of the following counties for the past two years and plan to graduate from that high school in 2022. Eligible Counties: Adams, Athens, Hocking, Lawrence, Meigs, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, Pickaway, Vinton or Washington.
(Special note: one scholarship will be awarded to an applicant from Perry County).
2. Graduate with a G.P.A. of 3.0 or better, based on a 4.0 scale
3. Participate in college preparatory courses as offered through high school
4. Enter the first year of a four-year program at an accredited college or university as a full time student in 2022
5. Lack full scholarship for tuition, room and board at time of award
6. Have two recommendation letters, one from each of the following:
• Community member (preferably a community organization leader) who is not a teacher
or a relative
• High school teacher or advisor who is not a relative
7. Cannot be related to an IBI Group employee

Noble County Community Foundation Scholarship

The NCCF will be awarding of two $1250 scholarships, one to a Shenandoah graduate and a second to a Caldwell graduate. Although high school seniors will be eligible to apply, preference will be given to
existing college students, including graduate/professional students.

All scholarship applications are due by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2022. All applications can be submitted electronically or hard copies can be returned to the Noble County Extension office at 46049 Marietta Road, Suite 2, Caldwell, OH 43724.

Guernsey-Muskingum Electric Cooperative Scholarships

Guernsey- Muskingum Electric Cooperative is offering three scholarship opportunities for area students. To be eligible their parents or guardian must be a member of Guernsey- Muskingum Electric Cooperative, Inc. 

1. The Children of Members Scholarship is for graduating seniors with a 3.5 GPA or better. Application deadline is Friday, February 3, 2023. 

2. The Touchstone Energy Achievement Scholarship is for students that have overcome unique personal challenges in their pursuit to attend college. Students must be a graduating senior and have a minimum 2.75 GPA.  Application deadline is Friday, February 3, 2023.

3. The Guernsey- Muskingum Electric Cooperative Scholarship in Honor of Jerry Kackley. This scholarship is for graduating seniors with a 3.0 GPA or better. Emphasis for this scholarship will be community service and leadership. Application deadline is Friday, February 3, 2023.

BBB Charitable & Educational Fund Inc.

The Better Business Bureau awards $6500 in scholarships to area students each year for the BBB Life Lessons Essay Contest.  The Life Lessons essay contest is a theme-based essay competition for high school seniors. The contest challenges young people to discover through reflection and writing how ethics plays an important role in their lives and how applying such principles can impact themselves and others. Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc Scholarships provide financial assistance to students throughout the nation who have significant financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity.  These scholarships range from $10,000 to $25,000.  See Mrs. Schoeppner or Mrs. Warner in the guidance office for more details.  Deadline:  March 15, 2024 Horatio Alger Association Scholarship

 

2023 Charles "Wally" McAuley Memorial Scholarship

This application is for the 2023 Charles "Wally" McAuley Memorial Scholarship.  In 2021, the committee established a fund in memory of Wally and plans to distribute $1,000/year to a high school senior from both Caldwell and Shenandoah High School.  Wally loved Noble County and it is through this scholarship that we hope his memory will stay alive and help a graduate from both Caldwell and Shenandoah High School have a financial kick-start to their future.  Wally valued hard work and education and all people, therefore this memorial scholarship will be unique in the fact that all are encouraged to apply for this award.  Applications are due by April 30, 2023 by midnight.
