National Wild Turkey Federation Scholarship

The purpose of the NWTF Dr. James Earl Kennamer Academic Scholarship Program is to recognize and reward a NWTF member, who is currently a senior in high school, for their outstanding academic achievement, community involvement and leadership roles. The National Scholarship Winner will receive a $10,000 scholarship sponsored by Mossy Oak. 

The Noble County chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation will be awarding a $250 scholarship to a Shenandoah senior. Please apply online one time to be considered for both scholarships:https://your.nwtf.org/scholarships/

Friends of MPLX Gathering & Processing Scholarship

The Friends of MPLX Gathering & Processing Scholarship was established for the benefit of a graduating senior from a Noble County School (Shenandoah High School or Caldwell High School) who plan to pursue a degree or certification in a science, technology, engineering or math and/or a field related to the oil & gas industry. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to apply. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to the chosen student. Application deadline is February 26, 2021. 2021 Noble County 4-H Scholarship

Three $300 scholarships will be awarded to 4-H members from Noble County in 2021. A $300 scholarship will be awarded to one Caldwell High School student, one Shenandoah High School student and one At-Large student (home schooled or Noble County 4-H'er attending another high school).

Requirements: 

  1. Live in Noble County
  2. Must be a member of the Noble County 4-H program in good standing. 
  3. A high school senior graduating in good standing and on time.
  4. Must have a cumulative 2.75 GPA or higher. 

Applications and a copy of current high school transcript are due March 15, 2021 and can be mailed to OSUE- Noble County. See Mrs. Marshall for application after January 1, 2021.

 

 

OOGEEP Scholarship

The Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program (OOGEEP) and Ohio's natural gas and oil industry will be awarding $1,000 scholarships in 2021. Students must postmark their completed applications no later than March 1, 2021, and the winners will be announced in May of 2021. 

Criteria:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must have a career goal in the natural gas and oil industry.
  • Must be an Ohio resident or a student attending, or planning to attend an accredited Ohio college, university, technical, or trade school.
  • Must have and maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Submission Requirements:

  • Provide an essay consisting of no less than 250 words, and no more than 1 page in length (12pt. font, single-spaced), detailing your career goals related to the natural gas and oil industry, and how your degree, or certificate, will help you towards your goals.
  • Provide a resume that includes academic achievements, extracurricular activities, awards/recognitions, community service, and work history.
  • Provide current transcript.
  • Provide Act and/or SAT test scores (if required by your educational institution). 
  • Provide two letters of recommendation from a teacher, employer or other mentor figure.
  • Completion of two-page application, signed and dated.

H.C. Secrest Educational Scholarship

 Applications for the H.C. Secrest Educational Scholarship will be accepted from any student who will train to be a teacher or school administrator and who attends Shenandoah High School. The student must have been enrolled at Shenandoah High School for at least one full school year. GPA must be at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. 

 The amount of the scholarship will be $500.

Noble County Retired Teachers Book Grant

 Applications for the Noble County Retired Teachers Book Grant will be accepted from any student who will train to be a teacher or school administrator and who attends high school in Noble County. The student must have been enrolled in a Noble County high school for at least one full year. GPA 3.0

The amount of the book grant will be $500.

2021 Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons of Ohio Scholarship

Scholarships from the Grand Lodge of Ohio Charitable Foundation are distributed to a young man and young woman in each of Ohio’s twenty-five districts. The recipient must be a graduating high school senior.

Submit the completed application and supporting documents to the Scholarship Chairman for your county.

Please review instructions on completing the year’s new requirement that the student must complete a FAFSA application and receive a Student Aid Report (SAR), which lists the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) on the first page. Applicants must provide the first page of the SAR with their application, and this figure will be used in the determination of financial need.

The completed application must be mailed to the scholarship chairman for your district.

Trae DeVolld Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is valid in the freshman year of the student's education at an accredited college, 4-year college, or university. Student must be a current senior at Caldwell High School or Shenandoah High School, Noble County, Ohio. There is no specific curriculum the student must pursue; however, they must participate in 4-H and/or sports programs. Applicants must also have a minimum GPA of 3.0. The scholarship is not renewable. 

Application must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021. See Mrs. Marshall for application.

Magnum Magnetics Scholarship

This $1,000 Scholarship is to be awarded to any qualified individual who would like to continue his or her education at an accredited 2 or 4-year college, university, or technical school and is pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree. Scholarship recipient must be a graduate or graduating senior of a Washington County or Noble County School and must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Children of Magnum Employees are also eligible to apply. This scholarship is renewable for up to 4 years provided the student maintains a minimum 2.5 GPA. See Mrs. Marshall for application.

Peoples Employee Scholarship

This scholarship was established to provide scholarships to children and dependents of Peoples Bank Employees. The scholarship is available to current seniors enrolled or accepted in an accredited college or university. Eligible applicants must have taken the SAT. This scholarship is renewable for three years provided the applicant maintains full-time enrollment status and a 2.5 GPA. See Mrs. Marshall for application.

IBI Group Scholarship

Two $1500 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors from the following counties: Adams, Athens, Lawrence, Hocking, Meigs, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, Pickaway, Vinton or Washington. 

Qualifications:

  •  Attend high school in one of the counties listed above.
  •  GPA of 2.5 or better.
  • Participate in college preparatory courses as offered through high school.
  • Enter the first year of a 4 year program at an accredited college or university as a full time student in 2021.
  • Lack full scholarship for tuition, room and board at time of award.
  • Have two recommendation letters, one from a community member and one from a high school teacher.
  • Cannot be related to an IBI Group employee.

This scholarship is available to all high school seniors and current college students who are planning on entering the law field. We understand how difficult it can be to pay for college and law school, and we want to help someone afford a better education

Dean Orthodontics Scholarship

Requirements:

A graduating high school senior who will pursue a post-secondary degree.

Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Shenandoah FFA Alumni Scholarship

The Shenandoah FFA Alumni is going to provide a scholarship in the amount of $500. The deadline is April 1, 2021 and the winner will be announced at the FFA Banquet.

Requirements:

  • Must be a senior with a cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Must have AET in good standing (online records)
  • Must have been in FFA for a minimum of 2 years
  • List all activities and accomplishments through FFA
  • List all community service activities
  • List all organizations/memberships outside of FFA
  • Write an essay entitled "How My Experiences as an FFA Member Prepared Me for the Future?" (Minimum 1 page typed, double spaced, 12 point, Times New Roman)
  • Any intended major or field of study is eligible to apply
  • Must maintain full-time status in college
  • Must maintain college GPA of 3.0 for first semester/quarter (Must turn in college transcript and/or intent to complete Freshman Forgiveness Policy to FFA Alumni for payment to college/ university after 2nd semester/quarter.)

Foundation for Appalachian Ohio

The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) is offering several scholarship opportunities for students in Appalachian Ohio. The FAO uses a general scholarship application for all opportunities listed below. Only one application is required, but please check the box next to all scholarships you want to apply for and note how you meet criteria for each in the Personal Statements you complete. Application can be found at www.appalachianohio.org and is due March 15, 2021.

  • The AK Steel Foundation Student Scholastic Award for Science, Technology, Math and Engineering was established by the AK Steel Foundation to provide a permanent source of scholarship support for students pursuing studies in STEM with a particular emphasis on metallurgy. Scholarships are available to both traditional and non-traditional students.
  • The ORA E. Anderson Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Ora Eaton Anderson and his lifelong contributions toward the conservation of Appalachian Ohio's natural environment. The scholarship provides support to students pursuing studies associated with environmental conservation and natural sciences.
  • The Ariana R. Ulloa Scholarship was established by family and friends to honor the memory and life's work of Ariana R. Ulloa. The scholarships are available to international students and eligible non-residents pursuing any field of study, as well as students pursuing a degree in international studies or international relations.
  • The Bob Evans and Wayne F. White Legacy Scholarship, was established to honor the tremendous legacy of both men in encouraging continued academic endeavors after high school. Scholarships are available to students with demonstrated financial need pursuing post-secondary studies.
  • The Jennifer Garrison Public Service Scholarship encourages and supports post-secondary efforts if students with a passion for public service. Scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors from Monroe, Noble and Washington counties.

This scholarship is designed to highlight the incredible potential of young people in the United States who are struggling with homelessness, housing instability, or extreme poverty. This scholarship focuses on providing monetary and gift basket scholarships to help assist high school graduates and college students with their financial burdens when purchasing allergy friendly foods.

Robert E. Evans Scholarship for 2021

Criteria to apply:

  • High school senior planning to pursue a four-year degree in the areas of business, education, engineering, liberal arts, math, science or technology.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must have financial need with preference being given to those students having a higher need. A Student Aid Report (SAR) from FAFSA must be submitted with the application.

The Noble Soil and Water Conservation District will be awarding two $500.00 scholarships to a Noble County Resident to assist with the pursuit of a college, university or technical school degree. Applicants should be pursuing a degree in the field of Agriculture, Conservation or Natural Resources. Application must be mailed to:

George "Robert" Beattey Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must be graduating high school seniors from Shenandoah High School in Noble County, Ohio who have lived in Noble County for four years; with preference given to residents of Seneca or Center townships.
  • Candidates must have a minimum 3.2 grade point average (GPA) and be in the top 50% of their class.
  • Candidates must plan to attend a public, state-supported four-year college or university in Ohio.

Selection Criteria

  • 50% Work Ethic and Demonstrated Ability to Work with a Team for the Benefit of the Team
  • 30% Financial Need
  • 20% Academic Success
  • Strong preference given to students studying science, technology, engineering, math or agriculture
  • Preference given to residents of Seneca and Center townships. 

Application Requirements

  • Application Form: includes detailed information about area of residence.
  • Three letters of recommendation, one each from an English, math, and science teacher that speak to work ethic.
  • Student Aid Report (SAR) from FAFSA

Scholarship is worth $5,000 payable over four years as 10% awarded year one, 20% awarded year two, 30% awarded year three, and 40%year four. Deadline is March 1, 2021. Please see Mrs. Marshall for application and recommendation forms.

 

 

COAD David V. Stivison Appalachian Community Action Scholarship Fund 2021

To be eligible, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be a resident of the 30-county COAD service area for at least one year before the application deadline.
  • Reside in a household with a total annual income at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines.
  • Have obtained or will obtain a high school degree or GED.
  • Show proof of acceptance by an accredited 2-year or 4-year institution of higher education.

John Wells Memorial Scholarship

Two, one time, non-renewable $1000 scholarships will be given to outstanding softball/managers in a six county area including Muskingum, Guernsey, Noble, Perry, Morgan and Coshocton. 

To apply for a John Wells Memorial Scholarship, a student must:

 

  • complete their secondary education during the 2020-2021 school year
  • be accepted or anticipate being accepted to any post secondary institution
  • be a United States citizen or permanent resident
  • provide a letter of recommendation from a softball coach and one other adult who is not a relative
  • complete the application form, include a recent picture and return all documents by April 15, 2021.

Pennyroyal Ruritan Club- Charles S. Gibson Scholarship

One scholarship for $750 will be offered to any senior. Applications must be completed and returned to Mrs. Marshall by March 19, 2021. See Mrs. Marshall for application.



Noble Local Classroom Teachers Scholarship

The Noble Local Classroom Teachers’ Association will award three scholarships to aid deserving graduates of the Noble Local District in furthering their education regardless of the major field of study.

Three $500 scholarships will be awarded at the beginning of the second year of each student’s program. Checks will be sent upon proof of one complete year’s work and proof of registration for the next quarter or semester.

The eligibility criterion includes:

  • Grade point average 3.0 or better for the four years of high school
  • Enrolled a full year or more in the Noble Local School District
  • School involvement
  • Acceptance in an accredited college, university, technical school or vocational program
  • Complete 10 of the “core curriculum” courses

Batesville American Legion #578 Scholarship

One scholarship will be available to a graduating senior of Shenandoah High School with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Recipient must plan to attend a four year college or at least one full year of higher education technical school. Applications are due by March 15th. Please see Mrs. Marshall for an application.


The Ohio Gas Association Scholarship Foundation

The Ohio Gas Association is pleased to offer a scholarship program to students who plan to pursue a career in the natural gas industry or related energy field. An interest in the natural gas field is suggested, although those interested in general business curricula are also invited to apply, since those majors are also applicable to the industry. Scholarships are limited to undergraduate college studies, technical or trade school programs for students who are Ohio residents planning to attend or already attending an Ohio school. Candidates must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Each scholarship is $1,000 and renewable up to three additional years. The deadline for applications is March 31, 2021.
